My name is Emma, I’m 23 and I come from Italy.
I did a bachelor’s in Biotechnology in Italy and during the last year I did an internship in a medical lab to write my experimental thesis and realised that I have a passion for scientific subjects but not applied to medical field.
That’s why when it came time to decide which Master’s degree course to pursue, my research immediately focused on the field of food and sustainability, my other great passion.
In September 2022 I started my master’s degree in Food Processing at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Cremona, then I found out the opportunity to do a double degree in Sustainable Food Systems at ISARA and I decided to move to Lyon for the last year of my studies.
Your experience in Italy?
In Italy professors were well prepared, we studied a lot of Food Microbiology, Biochemistry of Food but also we went in deep with Laws and regulations, subjects that were new for me but very important to keep in mind for every kind of job.
The teaching’s methods
Last year, we had a lot of theory and, on the contrary, this year we are improving our practical abilities. I think is a good combination that allow us to have a solid cultural background that will be useful in our upcoming work experiences.
Internship in the field of R&D, Supply chain, quality control and CSR
I am still a bit confused on what I really want to do in the future. I hope my Internship in food companies will help me to find my way. Until now, I’m looking for internship in the field of R&D, supply chain, quality control and CSR.
Daily Life in Lyon?
Lyon is a very nice city. It Is a big contrast with town we were last year because it is much bigger; there are a lot of activities, attractions, it’s impossible to get bored.
